Join our interactive ‘day in the life’ experiences and see what it’s like to be a medical imaging, optometry or medical student at Deakin University.
Get a real experience of studying at Deakin
Considering studying medicine, optometry or medical imaging after you finish school? Join one of our ‘day in the life’ experiences to get a real glimpse into what life is like. In these events, students will be able to:
- tour the facilities and see what equipment our students use
- attend a tutorial or observe a clinical simulation
- participate in hands-on activities using clinical skills and equipment
- talk to current students and academics to learn about their pathways
- learn more about entry requirements and career options
- get an insight in what it’s like to study medical imaging, optometry or medical student at Deakin.
These events are open to students from South West Victoria and the Wimmera/Grampians regions.
A day in the life of a medical student
An opportunity for Year 11 or Year 12 students with an interest in medicine to experience what it is like to be a medical student. These events will take place at Deakin Medical School sites in Warrnambool and Ballarat and at sites in Portland and Ararat.
A day in the life of a medical imaging student
An opportunity for Year 11 students with an interest in medical imaging to experience what it is like to be a medical imaging student. These events will take place at Deakin's Waurn Ponds Campus. A shuttle bus service will be available from various locations in Western Victoria.
A day in the life of an optometry student
An opportunity for Year 11 students with an interest in optometry to experience what it is like to be an optometry student. These events will take place at Deakin's Waurn Ponds Campus. A shuttle bus service will be available from various locations in Western Victoria.
